The Terry Higa Story

Giving Back to Families of Japanese Ancestry

In the first section of this project, I share my archival research and resources. During this journey I've found that even experts on the internment camps are often at a loss about where to find information. My hope is that my research helps families who are trying to unearth stories of their loved ones imprisoned in Japanese internment camps during World War II.

Rhetorical Analysis of War Relocation Authority Documents

In the second part of my project, I perform a rhetorical analysis of the War Relocation Authority documents and discuss how that rhetoric worked to justify the internment and inhumane treatment of Japanese-Americans during World War II.

Terry Higa's Story as a Prisoner of the Japanese-American Internment Camps.

Finally, I'll publish Terry's biography. I'll tell the story of a young Japanese-American girl imprisoned at Heart Mountain who went to live with and work for my grandparents at their ranch outside of Casper, Wyoming.
